WordPress

This site is built using WordPress which uses cookies to verify who you are as a logged in user or commenter.

Comments, Likes and Sharing

When you leave comments, we collect the data shown in the comments form as well as your IP address and browser information to help detect spam.

Information derived from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service.  After comment approval, your profile picture will be visible along with your comment. Gravatar is provided by Automattic (the makers of WordPress).

I may use plugins to show Facebook comments on my site. These plugins connect directly with your Facebook account but do not share any new information with Facebook.

I use various social sharing plugins so that you can like and share my content. These also connect directly to your accounts but they might also transmit non-personal information like your IP address.

Media

You should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). If images with location data are uploaded, visitors to this site will be able to download and extract that location.

Contact forms

When you submit a comment or contact form, you may be asked for your name and email address. This information is encrypted as it is transmitted from your browser to us so your private information cannot be intercepted. We never sell or share this information. 

MailChimp

My list service provider is Mailchimp. If you share your email address with me you are explicitly giving permission for me to send you the emails you requested. MailChimp keeps a secure record of this information and I keep a secure backup. Your information is just for my use and will never be shared or sold. You can unsubscribe at anytime by following the link at the bottom of every email.

PayPal & EJunkie

If you make a purchase, I will collect your name, address, phone number and any other information necessary to complete the transaction. All direct purchases are completed using PayPal who is responsible for storing your credit card information and keeping it secure. I have no access to your credit card info. Purchases through other sites such as Amazon.com are subject to their own privacy policies.

In order to offer some pricing options like Set Your Own Price, I use the EJunkie shopping cart which securely transmits your information to PayPal.

Zoom

Zoom is used for client meetings, classes and webinars. Zoom will collect and use your email address in order to send you notifications and reminders.

Throughout this site I often link to info and resources I hope you’ll enjoy. By clicking on those links you may be allowing those third party sites to collect or share your data for their own uses. I have no other relationship with these third party sites and I am not responsible for their privacy policies.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). This content behaves in the same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. They may collect data about you, use cookies, use third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content.

Who Else We Share Your Data With

Your IP address is an anonymous piece of data shared by all site visitors. In addition to cookies and pixel tags cited above, your IP address is used by the following services for security, content creation and marketing purposes.

Your browser may also send anonymized information about the type of browser, what kind of device, and which ISP you are using as well as your general location.

Google Analytics helps me spot general trends of use on my site.

Facebook Pixel Tracking helps me target ads to like minded people on that platform via IP address not email.

My Hosting Account  keeps server logs in order to maintain security and stop bot attacks.

YouTube retrieves your IP address when you watch an embedded video on this site. This is how they track views.

Facebook Groups and Pages provide me with user data but do not connect that data with any particular person.

Amazon Web Services and/or Backblaze store some content like pdf files and videos. Some anonymous information may be sent there.

Cloudflare which analyzes traffic coming to this site in order to prevent bad bot attacks.
